Chapter 23

“When the Night Speaks What He Never Will”... ..

The penthouse had fallen into complete silence.

City lights flickered in the distance.

Inside—

Darkness.

Stillness.

Adhira was asleep..Curled slightly on the bed.....Peaceful… for the first time after everything.

Late Night

A door clicked softly.

Barely audible.

Adhirath stepped out of his room.

His movements quiet. Controlled.

As always.

But this wasn’t routine.

His steps slowed as he reached the hallway leading to her room.

He stopped.

For a second.

As if debating something.

Then—

Slowly…

He pushed her door open.

Just a little.

Not enough to disturb...Just enough to see....And there she was.

Sleeping.

Unaware.

Safe.

His gaze softened....

Not dramatically.

Not visibly to the world.

But enough.

He didn’t step inside.

Didn’t cross the line.

Stayed at the door.

Distance maintained.

Always.

For a long moment—

He just… looked at her.

How can someone so careless… make everything feel this controlled?

His jaw tightened slightly.

You don’t even realize what you’ve become…

A pause.

His eyes traced her face.

The calmness.

The quiet.

Precious.

The word came uninvited.

Unacknowledged.

His fingers curled slightly at his side.

As if resisting something.

Too precious… to be left unguarded.

A faint exhale.

Then—

Without another step—

He pulled the door back.

Silently.

And walked away.

Because staying longer—

Was dangerous.

🌄🌄🌄NEXT Morning – A Different Side.........

Soft sunlight filtered through the glass walls...Adhira stirred.

Slowly waking up.

She stepped out of the room—

And paused.

The smell of coffee.

Her eyes shifted toward the kitchen space.

Adhirath.

Standing there.

Sleeves slightly rolled up.

Pouring coffee.

Not on a call.

Not giving orders.

Not surrounded by tension.

Just… there.

Calm.

Quiet.

Human.

For a second—

She just watched.

Because this version of him—

Didn’t match the one she knew.

“You’re awake.”

He didn’t turn immediately.

Still focused on the cup.

“Yeah…”

She replied softly.

A cup was placed in front of her.

“Drink.”

Simple.

She held it.

Warm.

Comforting.

“Since when do you… make coffee?” she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.

A pause.

“When needed.”

She almost smiled.

Because that answer—

Felt very him.

Subtle Care Again

“Did you sleep properly?”

The question caught her off guard.

She looked at him.

“Yeah… I think so.”

A small nod.

But his eyes—

Checked her again.

As if confirming it himself.

The Distance Returns

The moment shifted.

Subtly.

He picked up his phone.

Back to work mode.

“I have to leave.”

Her fingers tightened slightly around the cup.

Just a little.

“Oh…”

A pause.

“You’ll stay here.”

Not a question.

A statement.

“I’ll be fine—”

“I know.”

He cut her off.

“But you’ll stay here.”

No argument left , Hidden Protection , He moved toward the door.

Already focused.

Already distant.

But before leaving—

He stopped.

A brief glance back at her.

“Don’t open the door for anyone.”

Something in his tone—

Made it clear this wasn’t casual.

Then he left.

Outside – The Real Him

The moment the door closed—

His expression changed.

Cold.

Sharp.

Focused.

A call connected instantly.

“Double the guards.”

A pause.

“No one gets close to this place without my permission.”

Another pause.

His eyes darkened.

“And keep eyes on her. Every movement.”

Silence.

“Nothing goes wrong this time.”

Call ended.

.

Inside the penthouse—

Adhira stood quietly.

Holding the cup.

Looking at the door he just walked through.

Confused.

Because she didn’t understand everything yet.

But she understood this much—

He didn’t say much.

Didn’t show much.

Didn’t explain anything.

And yet—

He was everywhere.

In the silence.

In the safety.

In the way nothing felt dangerous anymore.

And outside—

Adhirath walked into the world again.

Ruthless.

Unforgiving.

But with one thought fixed in his mind—

She stays safe.

No matter what.
